When my first daughter was born, nearly 24 years ago, all the stops were pulled out by social services, et al, to make sure that all her needs were met, as a visually impaired child. However, when I had my second daughter, over 17 years ago, there was no help, at all! She was fully sighted!
I found some aspects of this situation almost harder than with the first child. How far should you sit a fully sighted child away from a TV or a book etc., I had no problems with this with the first, as her sight was just like mine - so what worked for me, should, in theory, work for her!
Do you think the help that was given for the first should have been given for the second, bearing in mind that my sight had not changed? Do you have any further comments?
All the best
