Free broadband for the blind anyone?

Well, wouldn't that be a fantastic idea?  Okay, it still leaves the issue of some equipment to put onto the end - not to mention training and support - but not having to find the ongoing cost of connectivity sure would be a start to allowing all registered blind people to take part in the digital revolution and to communicate even though many can't get around that much.

How would we go about progressing such an issue?

Not sure I would attack the issue from that end, would prefer discounted prices on equipment and software that is specifically designed to assist us. the theory being that we should not need to pay extra to use IT than the rest of the population

That's a very well made point in your post.  However, the Internet allows access to a vast array of material in a form that VIPs may not easily be able to access otherwise.  So, in my view, its not about use of IT but more about access to information - and under that premis, broadband services to VIPs might not only be reduced in price - but provided completely free

i not heard of this before or thought of it but it sounds a great idea.

if we can do something about it or look it to it and if neces group togethr to support it  we can cause a explosine  to our right as vip
